Anyone else find it funny how people hate "attention whores"...
but are quick to embrace celebrities? I mean, celebrities are celebrities because they know how to catch attention. Their entire life is being an attention whore, and thats why they're cool.
|
Wrong. An attention whore is someone who has nothing to offer.
A bit like this thread. |
So you're saying Paris Hilton has something to offer?
|
Did I?
She's not a celebrity...just an attention whore. |
Who fucking cares either way? Attention whore or celebrity, I don't give 2 shits about either.
|
You know, a lot of celebrity's popularity comes from then being hated.
You gave Paris Hilton as an example of an attention whore. This is true, why do you think everybody dislikes her? We watch to see what stupid **** she does next so we can continue to rant on how much we hate her. |

A celebrity is a widely-recognized or famous person who commands a high degree of public and media attention. Unfortanitly she is considered a celebrity. Not just her many oter attention seeking whores are. Its a shame that we hold the status of celebrity in such low stand or regard. And the point of this was not to disagree right-track but to show how absurd it really is. |
Attention Whore = Me
Don't hate me :) |

I see what you did there.
But now you are going to feel my wrath. |

The only celebrities that are even acceptable are the ones that use their fame to help others. The rest are a pile of ****.
In fact, Obama's video IMO looked worse because of the celebrities. RON PAUL '13 |
Ron Paul is an idiot. I like the IRS.

I think the basic idea put here is an interesting premise. It's a good observation. The celebrities who pervade the media are often ones who actually do very little actual work in their respective field (like Pete Doherty for example, and many actors/actresses) and spend most their time just getting publicly involved in the latest absurd escapade in order to build a career off of the media instead. It is attention whoring of the highest degree. In fact it's even MORE worthy of being called "whoring" because there's a SH1TLOAD of money involved, whereas your average "attention whore" doesn't make a red cent. And Paris Hilton is most definitely a celebrity. A celebrity is simply a famous or widely-acknowledged person who continuously (as in for a sustained long period) commands a high degree of both media attention and public attention. |
