Cartoons being cartoons in general. I hate that most kids like to watch "real" kids acting like adults for the most part in underage sitcoms instead of seeing Care Bears staring down the bad guys or watching Smurfs living in it up under the mushrooms.

Above all though NAPTIME - why is it that we hated to stop playin to lay down and when we are adults we'd give our right arm to have an hour or so to catch a little catnap!

Our skating rink got taken over by... urban youth. Bad, bad things go on at the rink after dark.

Cool Nostalgia, skate rinks; as follows,

All Skate! Couples only, Reverse Skate only, Ladies Choice, Royal Rexxing, When I showed up to the Rocket Roller Rink for the first time was, 1979 and I was 12. I always had to rent skates, I was always a little jealous of the kids that had their own skates, I wanted black boots with white laces and white wheels and stoppers. F' it. I going to go out and get some skates, my skates. My kids will be mortified when their Dad shows up on a friday night. I wonder if they still play disco. Probably T-Pain and Kid Rock now, I'll need a geezer night.

I miss Doug and Rocko's Modern World
I miss having little kid magical thinking
I miss my biggest concern being tiny things
I miss being angry at losing videogames
I miss when the backstreet boys and eminem were cool at the same time

I miss not having to worry about anything school related. That is until it was time for parent teacher conferences or grades to come out.
Not having to go to work when I get out of class. And having weekends off entirely.

i don't miss much. i downloaded all the cartoons i used to love (duck tales!), and i watch them with my wife on saturday mornings while eating bowl after bowl of sugary cereal.

i still sit on the floor and play with legos. the dinosaur ones they brought out last year are sweet.

i rock old-school NES games on my computer regularly.

i even own a pound of Silly Putty that gets brought out when i'm feeling particularly boisterous.

life is good

Now have you always had all these things or did you part with them only to revisit them in your adult years?

I find that I did the latter and things just aren't the same. That's definitely nostalgia - fond memories, nothing else.
