While yes, HotTopic (along with every other 'trendy' retail chain) do try their best to hire certain kinds of employees that doesn't make it 100%. I out of all people worked at a Hollister for six hellish months not because I liked their clothing, but because it was the only thing close to me that had actually called me back on. Also I could see Hot Topic being a bit of a safe haven for people with things like tattoos and piercings that tend to be frowned upon at certain work places.

It's a retail chain in North America that mostly caters to scene kids, occasionally you can find some half decent music or a band shirt, but for the most part it provides everything that a suicidal suburban teenage girl could want

I've only had to deal with a douche there once, otherwise they're really quite pleasant around here.

Anyway, I still think they sell some pretty tight clothing. The jeans are pretty cool and not that overpriced (I'll pay 30 bucks for cool jeans), the shirts are pretty neato, and the jackets are shweet.

While the majority of their band merch belongs to poser bands, occassionaly you can find a Sound of Animals Fighting, Fall of Troy, Coheed and Cambria, and other shirts.
I'm no fan, but I wouldn't be ashamed to buy something I liked from the place.

Poser bands?

Just because you don't like them, doesn't mean they're posers.

The only thing I find wrong with them is that they try to get more people into the store with their "shopper friendly" Care Bear and Hello Kitty merch.

Thank you for that wonderful input.

People can't wear a store.

And you've looked at every single person in the world that wears Hot Topic? And every single one frightened you?

I hate to admit it, but I used to like Hot Topic when I was younger (10 years ago), then I grew out of that phase.
