I guess it is in a way no different from eating meat. Would it be more justified if we ate whatever animal's meat and also used their skin/fur? Maybe fur farms could be a thing just like livestock and poultry or even seem a reasonable course to take like in the seal hunts.
But really, the reason fur has become unfashionable is because it is a way visible symbol of opulence and excess. If someone can afford to show off something like that then it is a reasonable assumption that they also apply that excess in everything else.
And it is from that perspective that it doesn't look like much of a good thing.
