I have several theories of why I think people are fat.
1. Genetical/Hereditary problem 2. Certain folks in our society need to look down on others, and so the more submissive types accomodate them in this strange manner. 3. Junk food/Fattening food is much cheaper than healthy food. 4. Simple lack of self-esteem, and trying to fill some kind of void. 5. There are many people who were once young and athletic, and the way they enjoyed sports was through intimidating others, rather than just playing for the love of the game. Once these people start getting on in years, and think others can intimidate them, they lose a big part of their identity, and suffer identity problems and become fat. You may disagree with this, but I have witnessed first hand, "cool" people making light of others' weight. It sickens me. Are people doing fat people a service by noticing their problem, or showing them pity? I think we should be more compassionate towards these people, because we are largely products of our environment, and if someone is fat, and has low self esteem, there is probably a very good reason for it. But, as I said above some people are probably fat, because they did it to themselves. Either way, it seems counterproductive to act really nice to their face, and talk sh*t about them behind their back. We are supposed to be a free country. Why can't we let other people be?
