enemyatthe_six got a temporary ban after several warnings for trolling/flaming.

BungalowBill got banned because 90% of his posts we're just insults.

Ethan has the artistic intelligence and musical nous to back up his insults. 90% of posters here don't.

Bungalowbill did. Enemyatthesix knew a bit more than most posters here as well. He at least had decent taste in Electronic music (and seemed to be getting better). Now who will I talk about the new SebastiAn EP with?! :(

His insults were pretty much completely unrelated to music and he gave no backing or explanation to them. No to mention he's been given like four chances on other accounts and reacted the same way. Plus the amount of work he's generated for the mod team is enough to keep him banned for good.

It's not like we're ban happy mods contrary to popular belief none of us get off on banning. But he's been told to stop the useless trolling before (he was even banned for it once back when) and still hasn't stopped. It's only a week.

Because a poster knew more about a certain genre of music that makes it alright? check posts and replies before you post.

You were the one that said it was ok for Crowquill to insult people because he has musical knowledge to "back it up", now when I say that enemyat_thesix also had musical knowledge, suddenly that's not ok? Why is alright for him to insult people with his vast knowledge of Indie and Emo, but not for anyone else?

Yes, several posters have pointed that out to me, thank you.

My insults are not "You like Radiohead, you're stupid they suck." My insults are more along the lines of "You said this which contradicted this, you're hypocrite." Maybe with idiotic or moronic thrown in there depending on how much they say.

An insult is an insult. I don't see how one is any better than the other, although yours was a bit more polite until you mentioned throwing in the word idiotic and moronic.

If he explained why said person was moronic or something it would be pretty excusable because he did back it up. There's a difference between expanding upon your insult and showing it as justified and just running around and insulting. This really doesn't excuse his excessive/pointless trolling either.

Some of that page, the most insulting thing I say in there is calling him musically stupid/ignorant which he proved he was throughout the thread.

I'm not really the one being put on trial here anyway, so I don't see why I need to defend myself or compare enemyatthe_six to me. Savannah is just annoyed because I called her e-boyfriend a dumbass after he repeatedly called me a douche for no reason other than correcting him. I've been reprimanded and told to chill out by other mods before if I get too bitchy (this goes for us all) we're still members and get pissed off. The admin has no problem with me and he's been asked to kick me off the mod team twice.

The reason he was banned was because of a post he made in the album ratings forum calling someone an idiot. He mentioned nothing about music in this post whatsoever , in fact he posted just to insult someone.

The album ratings forum is a part of the MB Reader section in which it clearly states 'THIS AREA OF THE BOARDS WILL BE STRICTLY MODERATED'
If he wants to go in there and act like that after already receiving 2 infractions from 2 different mods (none of them Crowquill I should add) then thats his problem.

As far as i'm aware nobody else has done this in that section of the forum and so nobody else has been banned for it.

So it's ok to call someone stupid as long as you tell them that, in your opinion, they have less musical knowledge than you do? Ok.

Just out of curiosity, why is that area of the board strictly moderated and the other boards aren't? And calling someone dumb is no worse than anything else I've seen on the boards, anyway.

Because that part of the forum is there to encourage people to go into more detail than they would in the main forums. If you've spent an hour or two writing a detailed review on something do you really want someone just going in there to insult you?

And he wasn't banned for calling someone dumb , he was banned for repeatedly doing it after he was told to stop on several occasions , and when we started receiving complaints from other members we were left with no choice.
