Rats are very affectionate. You can teach them tricks and in some cases they can wander free without getting into trouble. I had one when I was about 15 that lived in my coat. She would sleep on my shoulder and went everywhere with me. She didn't even have a cage.

Oh my god YES.
My 2 are like little dogs. They come when I call them. They know their names and can do tricks. Earlier tonight Vivienne was sitting on my shoulder 'grooming' me, gently pulling my hair and very gently nibbling my face which is the way rats show affection to one another. They sit on my knee and love cuddles. They are free range rats, they are only in their cage at night and when I am not in. Scientists believe that rats have the same intelligence as dogs, they are absolutely hilarious, they can fetch a ball, my little Alice is so cheeky she steals everything she can carry to make a nest out off. Endlessly entertaining and so very affectionate. They make a clicking noise that is the same as when a cat purrs, they love being stroked, I could go on! honestly one of the best animals in the world. predator, that is such a shame. Did you have any hairless rats? I love those! Quote:
My 2 are just so insanely active, they love running around so I wouldn't trust them outside! But I recently bought them a lead hopefully i can train them on it so I can bring them into the garden. More rat stories please!

The one that lived in my coat only pooped in one pocket.
Hairless were my specialty. I provided most of clark county with hairless rats. I also had rex, double rex, dwarf, various hooded patterns..... the list goes on. Once you figure out the genetics you can make what you want. I tried and tried but the one that I couldn't make was a dwarf hairless.

Haha yes leads! Like a mini harness! Oh you most definitely should, they are amazing animals. but be sure to learn all about them first! I was obsessed for years before finally getting mine. Predator that is hilarious, poop pocket litter tray. What a little darling! Rex rats are little beauties, although my favourites are Dumbos because that's what my little angels are I hate it that lots of people are getting rats just because of that Disney film ratatouille or whatever it is called, and then dumping them like a week later. a girl i know told me that a family friend of hers was moving house and decided to leave her 4 rats behind because she 'couldn't be bothered with them' if I ever meet her I will probably kill her? I offered to take them but thankfully they were rescued.

I'm trying to come up with some of my pictures from my breeding days. This is the only one I have left in photobucket for now.
She had a broken hood with a lightning bolt shape. Loved the camera. She was a dwarf dumbo with a broken hood.
