I love this country, but I hate the people in it.
I especially hate the fact that none of my family or friends think that most people are bad in this country.
Most of us are liars, I mean how bad does it have to get for us to admit that to ourselves?

This is a thread to open up the dialogue a little bit. I'm incredibly creeped out by most people I see on a day to day basis, and let's face it, unless we admit that things, won't change.

So here I am saying Most Americans are really, really sh*tty people.

Me - a truck driver who has been to every state excluding Maine, North Dakota, Alaska, and Hawaii, or you? I don't know much about you, but trust me, I have been driving over the road for about 2 years, and I am basing this thread off of my experiences with every area of the U.S. Some parts are better than others, without question. I'm sorry to burst all of your bubbles. I'm sure all of you wish you could live your lives, and fantasizing about the way you want things to be, as opposed to the way that they actually are, and never receive any interference from someone like me, but I'm allowed to speak my mind, and until one of the moderators ban me, I will continue to do so.

I think, to many generalizations are being made. there are still good people in America. here is a little story, two years ago i was in the states playing baseball, i was playing for a Japanese's university team, traveling through th US playing tournaments. We played a tournament in Kentucky, and one of the teams we played, they were from Alabama, started throwing at the Japaneses kids, and running our catcher. You want to know what their motivation was, Pearl Harbor.

Again, I have traveled to 46 of the 50 states, and am basing my argument off that. You are probably basing your defense of Americans off of your interaction with those in a very small section of this country, NW Washington, so please don't call me a moron. Your arguments are more generalizing than mine.

True, lizzie you need to come down South for awhile and see all the red-necks with their confederate flags and bumper stickers on the back of their trucks that say 'the south will rise again'

I have been in the military and was raised in a military family. I have LIVED all over the country and traveled to other countries for 30 years. From my experience the most polite and honest people come from Texas. Never have I felt more welcome and safe then when I lived there. In your whole 2 years driving truck across the country, what areas do you tend to stop in? Mostly not to far from highways? Sticking mostly to metro areas? Of course you have to go through smaller areas to get to the cities, but how often do you stop there? There are plenty of good people in this country, just the same as any other. Your experience must have been different than mine. I could also say that my experience says that truck drivers are all smelly perverts. I can say this because I have worked on a lot of trucks and the drivers tend to smell bad and solo drivers tend to have quite a bit of porn in the cab.

going off the way I feel about most Americans. You were probably defending most Americans, but I'm glad you can open your eyes and realize that maybe not every American is much like the ones you've met, and Sweet Nothing you're right the South is generally very creepy. By the way, I hope your not defending their actions, or that would be incredibly irrational discrimination, unless they did research before the game, and determined that not only were these Japanese kids somehow related to those who perpetrated the attacks at Pearl Harbor, but also were very proud of them, and would further encourage that type of behavior.
It just goes to show how blind and irrational some Americans hatred of other countries is.

Am I the one basing my whole argument solely on my experiences with people in America, and not taking anything else into account? No, thats you. You might wonder, what comprises a sh*tty person? America was founded on rape and murder so as a country I have to say I question our history and it's like we're sliding towards fascism also so I question our present too.

Once again, you misread my post, because I didn't say all Americans, I said most of them. You might be thinking that myself discriminating against Americans is the same as someone discriminating against peoples of different race, and religion. But, to be honest, I'm relentingly taking this view, not unrelentingly. I don't automatically hate all Americans, simply because they're American, and to be honest, if I saw a thread where someone was impuning a whole race, or religion, I would be pretty pissed off. So let me clarify - I'm taking the stance that, unless a situation is seen as a problem, then the problem can't be rectified. I see a very deep, very transparent problem with many places I have seen in America. But, go on and believe there's nothing wrong, and believe that all those people who are unrelentingly pro-America are the ones who are right, and the only ones who should speak up.

Hmm, that's interesting, because I don't want to go anywhere. I didn't say that I would automatically be happy living somewhere else. I might be depressed, and seen as kind of a sick person, and I might be depressed anywhere else, but that doesn't take away my right to sit right here in America and voice my opinion. And I'm not just a bitter, twisted person. I honestly believe we can do better as a people, and it tears me up inside. I'm just as intolerant of intolerance as the next person, but that's regarding intolerance without any clear reason. I'm not saying that all Americans are automatically bad people, but I'm simply basing it off my own experience. Savannah, I'm glad for you, and you should feel blessed that you have an inability to see our flaws, but I'm not built like that, so I'll go ahead and voice what I feel is right.

And also the cost of living is much higher in those countries.
