Because only 2 major parties exist. You can name off all the political parties you want, but in reality the chance of one of them winning the presidential election is nil at this point in time.
Care to expand?

You may not agree with one party 100%, but you have to realize that a vote for the United States Communist Party is thrown away. You take the points that are the most important and align yourself with the party that best suits you. If there is a major shift in the political parties, then this will all change.
