My default ringtone is this:


It can be unsettling at first, but once you get used to it, it's alot more fun to watch other people freak out when it starts playing, especially if you're someplace where it's dark, or if you happen to be sleeping in the same room and it goes off in the middle of the night.

My ringtone and message tones I just chose from the options of all the generic iPhone ones. So I am consequently one of those people who always pick up their phone only to realise it wasn't my phone ringing, it was someone else's.

I had to change mine because of that very reason.

Once I found out an easy way to make custom ones, I've made quite a few. I made four or five looping ones with just 4x4 drum kicks (no melodies), all from a few of my favorite Techno tracks. They usually start with just the kicks anyway, so it's rather easy.







I also made one out of the end of Burial's song Loner, but the one I'm using now is John Metcalfe - Copper Beach.

My Palm ringtone was "Broken" by Bad Religion for years, but then I finally upgraded up to an iPhone in October and my ringtone has been "Runaway" by Hail The Villain.

Mine sounds like a phone ringing.

At least you will know that it's your phone in a crowded area.

About 4 people I work with all use ringing phone ringtones.
Maybe I should use music.
