uhh....not really, actually no, not at all. To YOU looking back it may seem like that, but if you do some further research you'll actually discover that aside from the huge number of legitimate threats flying back and forth, the cold war was mainly about the entire world taking a side (east or west) and aligning themselves with the two powers. Vietnam war, korean war, the war in afghanistan against russia, all were wars DIRECTLY related to the cold war. oh, and if you want to figure out how close the us was to being nuked, look into the bay of pigs incident.

No, I mean sure we're able to, but is it worth it? Of course we put a man on the moon in 69, but after that first initial wave of enthusiasm for "hey gee whiz we're on the moon" it got boring. It's not like the 1600's where we discovered new continents with plenty of gold and native civilizations to rape, it was a bunch of things in space with lots of rocks. All in all, going to Mars isn't very sexy. The cost to put a man on Mars would be astronomical(pun pun pun) and quite frankly without us racing evil communists to get there, why bother.

No, I'm pretty sure that title goes to the Holocaust conspiracy theorists.

I just cannot imagine they had the technology back then to even get a rocket higher than the clouds let alone all the way to the moon.

I saw a television program ages ago and in it a group of guys faked the moon landing and it looks amazing, it was shot out in the Nevada desert, they analised the 'real' video and found a number on one of the rocks apparently, likened to that of the numbers often found on movie props... I'll have a look for a link later if this hasn't already been mentioned.

It was totally to get one over on the russians.

The moon looks dead boring, literally DEAD boring and dark I bet it isn't all pretty and shiny like it pretends it is.

could easily have been caused by a flaw when developing the film

so why did the russians go allong with it? they had spies in nasa and were tracking the space craft, there's no way they could have hidden it from russia
