Hawking's* theory is that the Big Bang was caused by the collapse of a previous universe. The theory suggests that the universe is expanding, but will at some point collapse in on itself, with all the matter in the universe being crushed down to the size of a pinhead before exploding once again to form an entirely new universe, one in which the earth may never be formed, or one in which several thousands of planets with similar environments to earth may or may not be formed.

*I think it's Hawking's theory, but don't quote me on that.

Default Whoops might be a tad long.

First of all, I’ll start with ‘Switchfootrocks!’ comment:

even though David Frost said that it was made by men who believed in god, there are a lot of people out there who believe God did have something to do with it, believers of Christianity, and non believers(they cant explain it). Im talking of the many codes found in the original books of the bible, which would’ve been impossible to create thousands of years ago, when it was written. I cant remember much of the codes but im sure you can get them off the net, I do however remember a bit of one. I think it was the first four books of the bible (the bible has 66 books) anywho the first two books called ‘Genisis’ and ‘Exodus’ both have a code where every 49th (7 times 7) letter in hebrew (remember these books each have hundreds of pages) spells out ‘TORH’ which means ‘the word of god’. If you think about it, having that code in it, and still making the whole book make sense, is extremely hard. I couldn’t even do it now, even with computers. Anywho if we skip the 3rd book and goto the 4th and 5th books ‘Numbers’ and ‘Deutoronomy’ every forty ninth letter spells out ‘HROT’. ‘the word of god’ backwards.. So anyway if you write this out, it would appear that ‘the word of god’ seems to be pointing towards the third book, correct?
The third book called ‘Leviticus’. Now if we look at every 7th letter in Leviticus we get the word ‘YHWH’ repeated again. ‘YHWH’ is the Hebrew word for God. Thus the word of god (faith/Christianity) leads too god!! Pretty cool huh!

Not to mention how many disturbing and horrific acts have been carried out in the "name of god" throughout history.
When you say ‘horrific acts have been carried out in the "name of god" throughout history’ you have to remember that back in the day (hundreds/thousands of years ago) being a religious leader meant great power. Thus you had your average Joe who thought that with power he could do anything he wanted and get away with it. So he slapped on a cross and cried out his love for god. No one back then would dare go against the church, so they were forced to listen to this person and do what he did. Also they hadn’t properly translated the bible back then, so they had no real guide-line on how to love god, and be his follower. So just because someone says they did something in the name god, doesn’t mean god endorsed it. They could just be blamming him for they mistakes.

Ido not entirely believe everything the bible says (making the world in 7 days or noah in his ark) because I belive those stories had different meanings.
I would also like to know opinions on whether God is man orwoman. The bible says he is a man but i think that this was only belived because the bible was written by men. Men are NOT superior to women. Yes the bible is sexist.
yeh the rock star thing is quite rad. When you say you don’t believe in ‘Noah and his ark’ there is actually quite a lot of proof that there was in fact a worldwide flood. This worldwide flood also supports the Christian’s claim the world in only about 8 thousand years old, not billions of years old, as is thought by many people today.

Actually the dating of fossils is based on asumptions and is heavily relied on radioactive carbon dating in relation to the half lives they have. As radioactive carbon can only exist for a few thousand years it is impossible to date fossils that existed millions of years. Evolutionists therefore base dating on inference, which is a better name for a guess! Human fossils have recently been found lying next to dinosaur fossils in texas over the past few years which totally disproves the evidence for evolution and cannot be explained by evolutionists. Also the lack of transition fossils in the fossil record suggest that evolution could not have occurred because it could only happen by small incremental changes of one species to another which is not evident in the fossil record.

Transition fossils exist everywhere. The recent Malaysian discovery has once again proven their existence, but once again has been dismissed by religious zealots. Those who do not wish to accept they are wrong will find fault, however tenuous, or downright wrong, with everything.

Precisey man. There is no way they can all be right, and there is every possibility that they are ALL wrong. Has religion really been worth all the pain, suffering, extortion and death it has caused?

yellow card, I know that they were given great power, but i'm not saying they were endorsing god's word. that's precisely what bothers me so much about religion. so many people have used it as a tool to hide behind horrific acts. there's so many different religions (as thrice pointed out) each religion is in agreement that there is a higher power (whatever they may call it) but there are various differences within those religions, so how can any one person be so certain that they are on the right track? it just seems so ignorant and closed minded if you really think it through. think about what has been done in the "name of god" (in actuality jsut using religious beliefs to hide behind) in order to be able to carry out horrific acts. the crusades, holocaust, the conflict in iraq between ****e and sunni muslims (and throughout the middle east as well), oppression (and in iraq mass murder) of kurds throughout the middle east, genocide of armenians in turkey, the list just goes on and on and on.

Transition fossils are those fossils that show small incremental changes from one fossil to the next that shows the change from one species to the next, which would point to evolution. These have infact not been found, so i dont know what list of your transition fossils ur talking about because even evolutionists agree that they have not been found, or indeed they dont even exist. The recent discovery in indonesia, not malaysia, have not been dismissed by religious zealots but do not fit in with evolutionists theory of how man came to be. They have been found to be much too young and small for us to have evolved from them.
