Xbox 360 or PS3? (country, hardcore, quote, cheap)

How is that? The sales numbers are pretty close to equal for the first year. Still to this day I go into a store and there are no Wii's or 360's available, but there are plenty of PS3's on the shelf waiting to be bought.

Wii about 22 million
360 about 17 million
PS3 about 10 million

I can understand the wii statement, but where the **** do you live where you can't get a 360?

I could walk into target easily about a year ago and find one..
I mean, the ps3 in 1 year has sold about half of what the 360 has in total hardware. And when all the +AAA titles come out, it will most likely tie it in the next 1 to 2 years.

You cant look at the playstation brand as just being the ps3 either. The psp has sold roughly the same amount as the 360 and wii togethor.

The ps3 is doing about exactly as well as the 360 did in its first year in America..

And why even bother comparing the two to the wii? The wii is crushing them both, and rightfully so.

I live in the Portland Oregon area. There were no 360's available in the area at all 3 weeks ago. I had a friend that had to drive 200 miles to get one for her sons birthday. The nearest 360 was 200 miles away when there were PS3's all over the place. My sister couldn't find one for her kids in Jan. She lives in Nashville. I haven't looked since then but I don't expect to much difference.
Who is looking at Playstation as only PS3? I know it is a large brand just the same as Nintendo. Microsoft has one game system unless you want to count the real #1 gaming platform.
Worldwide sales match the PS3 and 360. American sales show the 360 leading PS3 by about 2 million units in the first year. When you compare world wide sales the numbers are closer to matched.
Market analysts see the spike in PS3 sales as a result of the end of the format wars. PS3 is the current cheapest Blue Ray player on the market. When decent stand alone Blue Ray players drop below the price of PS3 the sales will drop off again. Right now, the bottom of the barrel players are equal price with PS3.

I don't care how has better sales....I love my ps3....I bought my ps3 thinking that gta4 was coming out in october and it got pushed back

....but I'll just enjoy army of two and uncharted til it comes out....the graphics on uncharted is ridiculous...I love how the water splashes on your jeans and slowly dries as you continue on

That's exactly what it comes down to. Which one do you like better. Sales don't matter as long as you get what you want out of it.

The 360 and PS3 are pretty evenly matched, I'd say. The 360 is simply cheaper, so it's selling more units. Why pay more for a console that isn't markedly and transparently better? A Sony devotee may find his/her reasons to, but the average Joe won't.

But yeh, I agree, ultimately sales aren't what matter.

EDIT: Oh, and as for the Wii, it's just selling so many units because every parent in the goddamn country is buying it for their kids because, much like children themselves, it's fucking stupid and annoying and apparently breaks shit.
