I've never maintained I was innocent in this case, I realize what I have done. However I think the potential punishment is too severe for the offence committed.
I feel like a Chinese citizen being sentenced to death for stealing petrol

However, I strangely feel a sense of liberation, if I do get the boot from college, I can go on and get a job, a car and some ****ing money!

There's always going to be some good coming out of it, I hope it works out in the end!

I could murder a man for a car right now, the situation is becoming desperate. The trouble is money, I've tried to get quotes from as many companies as I can, but they are always ridiculously too much for me. On company was (I shit you not), no less than £100,000 for an under 20. They just don't want to let me near them.

100k?!?! What are you driving, a Mercedes Benz?

Are you not in an area with decent public transport links like?
Having a car would definitely make life more practical for me, but isn't exactly essential. I've lasted 18 years without one lol.

You passed your test?

No, that's their standard insurance rate for people under twenty. Because they don't want to insure anyone under twenty at all.

Sadly, public transport down here is even more crap than Scotland. Leaving here at 7:30, train is OK, gets into Manchester at 8:20, but then the bus takes until nine too go a few miles to college.

So, if you just turned 17 two weeks ago, you'll have a while until you can be truly concerned about insurance prices

Still seems completely unbelivable a years insurance for a 1.1, 1.2 engine car would be 100K (I'm not using the pound sign, as it isn't operating, hmm..)
Are you sure it's not just a grand? Which is still excessive for a years cover, but seems more realistic.

Ah, well, I'm pretty desperate to start driving soon, but I suppose it shows how soon people get affected by insurance. When I'm trying to buy a house somewhere, I imagine I'll be looking back on these times as "the easy days".

Definitely that, I honestly couldn't believe it, but I actually checked with them about it and it was confirmed. It's really just their way of saying "teenagers fuck off".

Now, the best offer I found was if you agreed to have a little tracking device installed in your car, which measured braking distance and how sharply you take turns (thankfully not speed!), and the idea is that if you are a careful driver they realise this and know hundreds off your insurance. If your as crazy as my grandma and drive like a maniac, your insurance will be tripled.

It takes a while to get past your test though. I should be passed by April/May and started in December. Will need to book my theory test tomorrow.

Man,100K is just ridiculous. Which insurance company was chucking that figure at you?

Also, a letter was received from the college today, it seems I have committed a 'Category 4' offence meaning there is a high chance I will be dismissed.
Despite only creating a segment with unintentional homophobic references and airing it, that is considered a worse offence than assault.

Wow, I'll be sure to take note and not let my kids go to your school. Whenever I have kids, anyway. Where are you going, again?

Surely there is an appeal process, though. Would you try to appeal if they decide to kick you out?

@Salami.

I passed my test roughly two years ago and it was about £1000 for the years insurance with me as a named driver and my mum main driver. Now I'm main driver and it's still about a G. It definitely shouldn't be £100,000 my mates are getting quotes for roughly the same (maybe a bit more because of the equality rules that came in). What company quoted you that?
