Stuck a bit late at work waiting for a necessary turnaround of documents before I can leave. Will be out tomorrow having a myringotomy (surgical incision of ear drum). Still have a stubborn 80% hearing loss in right ear due to infection. No pain, but feel as though I'm living in a fog (or foggier than usual ).

My sister has strep throat and I think that I'm getting it too. I have big calculus test tomorrow, I hope that the sickness doesn't prevent me from going to school this week.

Gave my cousin money to buy beer for me while I was with a friend who's a recovering alcoholic - I prefer not to buy booze in front of him, because that seems messed up to me.

Came home ready to have a few brews and write, and found that my cousin drank all of the beer, and has passed out on the couch I generally sleep on.

****ing livid.

Well, as a recovering opiate addict, I know how hard it is to pass up your fix when it's sitting with you in the same house as where you are staying, so it's hard for me to be angry towards someone who gave in to his/her weakness. Maybe hide your booze? It's still bad that he took your spot and somewhat hindered the creative process, though, I'm sorry about that man.

after the long weekend of holidays (Prophet Muhammad's birthday and Thaipusam (Indian Hindu deity's celebration)), I am feeling like a total slug at work

Dear People With Journals

If you want your journal approved quickly try actually writing something rather than posting about 500 youtube videos that practically give my computer a heart attack the moment I set foot in your journal.

Thanks.

The thing that annoys me is, I am friends with LOADS of men, like actual loads. They invite me to partys which are for the 'boys' only. I'm stuck in a rut of being one of the lads because I'm obviously quite boyish. It's **** because it's those guys I like (ones I spend loads of time with) and they don't even look at me. It's just the creeps down the pub.

@Aurora It seems like maybe you need to find more as to what you want and may need a new approach to do that. I don't know if this applies to you too but it certainly has for me with my relationships with people (not just romantic ones): Basically I find that a lot of times the problems that come up with relationships come up from putting up to much barriers and the frustration towards the other person and what seem to be faults can actually be a personal frustration in how they respond to the barriers you put up and not actual problems with them. I know some people are just horrible but at the same time I think there is a lot more good in people when you make an effort to be real with them than many people realize. Like if you think a guy is making you uncomfortable standing your ground can be really important because if you don't it can really misrepresent you and in the long run it makes you discredit your own feelings. Which sucks because you feelings DO matter but there is a lot of things telling us otherwise. Every day we repress our feelings because we feel they aren't valid but we forget that the fact that if it even came up in our head at all (an emotion or feeling) should be enough evidence that it matters.

Just my 2 idealistic inexperienced potentially skewed biased and likely immature cents.
I think you could be right because I'm painfully secretive, not because I want to be, because I'm shy and embarassed. I know no ways of changing so I guess I'm ****ed haha.

Oh, no, my cousin isn't the recovering alcoholic; I was with a close friend who is, and sent my cousin to buy the beer for me so I'd not have to do so in front of my friend and potentially make him uncomfortable.

My cousin asked me if I would give him a few beers as compensation for sending him out, and I said, "Sure."

He then proceeded to be a total douche and drink all 12 of them, ultimately falling asleep on my couch watching Netflix.

For the record, I was gone for less than two hours. He says he'll pay me back next week when he gets paid, but I'm not holding my breath.

Oh okay. That is entirely uncalled for. I share your state of animosity for that action now.
