Hmm... I wouldn't outright eat food up in the grocery and not pay for it. Can't be that expensive. If I were to steal something, I'd pack my drawz full of steaks and lobsters.

I do sometimes drink something and bring the empty bottle to the register. I never forget to bring it, but there was this news story I read recently reporting that this guy ate some .99 cent candy or something, and forgot to pay for it afterwards and got hauled off. They actually brought him to court, but the jury easily found him not guilty. They weren't about to clap a guy in irons for forgetting to pay for a .99 cent piece of candy.

I do that too, sometimes. Also once with a chocolate bar, and I just brought the wrapper to the cash. They never questioned it.

Yeah, I've heard of that. Have a friend who always does it with chocolate milk.

Well I must have misunderstood you then... Cause what I am getting now is that you think it's a good thing and also legalized slavery which doesn't make sense to me

No apology needed, not upset. Just seemed like people were actually on topic for once and I thought it was dumb to close it.

I'm not sure why I have to keep explaining this but I will give it one more go.

Welfare is a good thing as far as being there for an emergency and temporary use but the way that it currently works IS LEGALIZED SLAVERY.

The part that falls under that category is the WEP program which doesn't give any incentive to get off of it because they threaten to turn off your case if you don't follow their wishes to work for 1 dollar a day. Even if you do get a job like at McDonalds, they will want to shut off your case and I'm pretty sure that you know, people can't really live off of McDonalds minimum wage.

I still don't get your point, can you explain it one more time?

Because it still sounds like something that's not slavery. Legalized or otherwise.

From what I read, this WEP (Work Experience Program) is exclusive to New York City... so if it's that much of an issue, you can relocate to one of the other 49 states that offer an oppurtunity to abuse the system the way you see fit.
