lol woah slow down, I'm not. I'm just saying some people do which is why the term feminist generally is used negatively

That's dumb though, it's like the people that say all of Islam is evil because of the minority of extremists/terrorists who do things allegedely in it's name

Well I said 'the thing I don't like about feminism is the extremists', I meant to say some people have a bit too "hardline" approach for my liking, I probably worded it wrong my apologies.

But women who are actually doing practical things and sorting out where the system messed up, hell I've got no problem with that. It's just become a bit of a buzzword, like playing the "race card" (which I know about cos I've done it on occassion) and it plays into the whole enforced political correctness, which is arguably undoing all the good work thats been done in the name of equality etc

Maybe she isn't a bad person but she looks militant, ironically a bit fascist. That is the thing that I don't really like about feminisim - the extreme feminists seem to think that in order to be very feminist they have to be very masculine, which is not really feminism tbh. But that's just an extreme like I said, I got nothing against Women's rights.
Extremism is good in nothing, I guess .

Disagree. A lot of the things that we consider completely normal now used to be completely outlandish to even consider. Extremism isn't always right, but it can lead to progress of some sort.

Hm, you may be right there.
But it never really makes the present time any better to be an extremist.
I could open peoples eyes and cause progression, that's true.

And if there's extremism on both sides of the lines, it does create a certain balance and at the same time show people possibilities.
Allright, you're right. But you'll have to agree with me when I say that it's not always easy to see the good side of extremism at the time being.

I agree with s_k man, I don't think anything is good in extremes. There's a difference to pushing the bounds and dogmatic extremism imo The former gives progression, the latter is anything but. Cos we're talking about extremism within an idea/ideolagy - like as an analogy, if you water a plant too much, it drowns.

Hmmm, I'm afraid even s_k man has to agree with Phanastasio.
I mean she does have a point. I'm not happy with extremism of any sort in my neighbourhood, but on the long term it does indeed cause progress.

I wonder if progress is useful, though. I mean, what would happen if progress would just stop right now. Would that be a bad thing? Would it make the future any worse?

Yeah of course if progress stops, the World stops. Or at least circles the drain till it stops.

But I can't agree that extremism is good. Anything that could be done with an extremist approach could be done better with a light handed approach. I think of extremism as the "all guns blazing" approach - run in, shoot the place up, fix whats left.

Well instead of that you could use your brain and just shoot what you need to shoot.

Like extremist Muslims - Al Queda etc. If it's not all one big conspiracy and they really were fighting for freedom of the middle east, then there are better ways to do that than to blow up a civilian building on enemy soil with suicide pilots. What they did was an extreme act, in the long run it just screws things up more.

Extremism might give you some immediate form of progression, but it always comes with the price of picking up the pieces and counting up the casualties.

It's like punching a door in so hard that you break your hand just to get in. You could find a better way.
