I'm currently holding off on writing 3 papers that I have to hand in in the next few weeks. I find I'm very good at scheduling what I have to do but never end up following through on it.

For example: "Ok... my paper is due in 10 days. It needs to be 10 pages long, so I'll just do 1 page a day. That way it'll be like I'm barely working on it at all because it'll take up like 1 second of my day! You know what, I'm kind of tired today, so I'll just make up for it by doing 2 pages tomorrow. Oh no! 2 seconds a day! Pffft..."

9 days later: "****."

I know I shouldn't do it but I can't help myself. I just never have the motivation to do something until I HAVE to do it. It's frustrating.

You know, I was going to make some long post totally agreeing with you, but I got lazy and didn't feel like it.

Girl I'm in theatre with got super pissed off that I called her "man" in a text.

The context was she did something wrong (which could have pissed me off, but I let it slide) and I texted her with, "It's cool, man - Don't worry about it. See you Wednesday."

Question though - does that piss most girls off? It doesn't bother me at all, and I call most people "man" or "bro" or "dude", regardless of gender.

Should I be this irritated that she was irritated by this?!

She's obviously an uptight bitch, the best solution in my opinion wouold be to not talk to her ever again. If they can't deal with a minor gender-bender in the context of a catch-phrase, they should probably be banished from all non-essential verbal communications in the future.

My car manifold has fell down due to the rotting of the join. I either need a good welder or a whole new exhaust. Either way it's undriveable and I need to take the 30min bus journey to work instead of a 5min car drive. FML. At this rate I'm going to need to drop out of my holiday because I can't keep up with it. I wish I was rich, whoever said money doesn't buy happiness obviously hasn't ever been in the predicament of not having two brown pennies to rub together.

I totally agree, life ****ing sucks without money. Being on the benefit sucks, even if it's free money.

FETCHER. 03-23-2011 07:02 AM

obviously right now theres thousands of people alot worse off than me and I feel pathetic complaining just because my car doesn't work, but it's alot more complex than just that. I had to ask my mother for bus fare, which is btw £1.50 thats how little I have. I'm screwed for basically anything social or work because I don't have the means of travel and I stay about 7miles from the nearest town. FT villages.

why does the griping thing have to be a female noun?

can't this thread be renamed "Gripe Box"

it's pretty insulting to the female species

I think it's fine the way it is.

or if you wanted a name change it could be like Daily Complaints or whatever but Bitch Box has been working for years no.

Don't fix something that isn't broken imo.

Go for 'dude' next time.
But seriously: She's an idiot if you ask me.
Firstly, it's a play.
Secondly, even if it wasn't a play you'd still be 'allowed' to say things in your own way.
It's pretty normal here too. You can say 'ah joh', meaning something like 'come on man'. 'joh' is short for 'jongen', which means 'boy'.

Around here we say "man" so naturally. And not really like it is said in most other places. We put "man" or "like" at the end of sentences for apparantly no good reason so you should send her here and watch her head explode.

Seriously though, tell her to get over it and stop being such a drama-whore.
