My fiance is being such an a-hole. I think I'm gonna break up with him. He is addicted to caffeine which I didn't mind, but he went off of it cold turkey and he is only being a jerk and making my life miserable. Should I do it (break up with him)? Or wait it out and see if things get better?

Treating caffeine like an addiction is laughable and shows your boyfriend is a bitch if that's what he frames it as. Cold turkey on caffeine? Please. Is there a pain that surrounds his body and literally tortures him if he can't have it anymore, and does he physically retch if he can't have caffeine? If so, then that's true addiction. He's dependent on caffeine for higher mental functions, that's probably what it is. So he decided to stop drinking coffee, big deal, but if it makes him an irritable ass about it, I feel like that shows very little control over his actions. For instance, when I completely stopped taking Adderall after taking it every day for 5 years(and adderall is a much more potent upper than caffeine), I felt sluggish and slow, but I never got angry about it.

So tell your fiance to man up and not be a bitch about quitting coffee, and don't break up with him, my parents get on each others nerves all the damn time but they still, to the core, love each other, even though they argue like bastards a lot of the time.

It says caffeine withdrawal can cause mood swings. Not to mention headaches, which naturally lead to mood swings! It says it can last anywhere from 2-9 days, anytime beyond that point I'd suggest an 'alternative' solution to your problem.

Yah, my body loves caffeine which is one of the reasons why I pretty much never drink coffee. I drank it in mornings to wake myself up for school for a week but by friday because I wasn't drinking it midday as well I was getting splitting headaches. So it's maybe not as bad as going cold turkey of smack, but it's still a bitch.

Now I just smoke instead.
