I really dislike talking to my dad about school. Most of the time I just tell him things are going well and swiftly change the subject, but today I felt like telling him about my 95/100 on my last essay and his response is "Why wasn't it 100/100?"

Ow, no wonder you don't tell him. I'd say you done exceptionally well Pete :)

**** man, that sounds exactly like how my dad reacts to absolutely everything I do. I never tell him anything because it all ends up just being a big criticism, even when I expect him to say something positive. The one that pissed me off the most was, "Hey Dad, I got an internship in Singapore...isn't that ****ing awesome??"...his response, "You aren't thinking about your responsibilities here in the US, that is a bad idea, you aren't going to like it blah blah blah..."

I give up.
