Maybe once you've been there long enough she might just offer you a bit more respect.
I'll put money on it. In the meantime try and stay on the right side of her...she sounds like she's capable of undermining your position at the benefit of her own. |

Aye, I've thought of that too. Will definitely be on guard with her in the future. Now I know what to expect.

^ sure isn't a good way of teaching, but sometimes in your subconscious you think it is. I even think it's more of a female way of thinking, and 4 years much more than enough to guarantee this kind of behaviour. So I'm pretty sure that's what she's thinking. Also, I think that your sister had already talked to her, to ensure some kind of guardian (females are twisted, that's just a fact). You just have to prove that you're an adult that can take care of himself, and she'll stop being so rough on you.

Just because she's there longer than you are doesn't mean she has any authority over you unless she holds a managerial position over you. While it's good to not piss off the locals, so to speak, you shouldn't be worried about impressing a co-worker on the basis of them simply being there longer than you.
I don't see why this is an issue beyond a personal feeling of disappointment at a fellow human being. As RT said... some people just don't get along in the workplace. But none of the people there are employed for the purpose of making the other employees feel good about themselves. Go to work, do your job, make your money and go home. You'll have people who do that and do it in a way that either pisses you off or doesn't.. Learning how to deal with it is the best way to help your own situation, because ultimately, that's the only one that matters. Yes, being nice and helpful usually works out better for you in the long run, but when someone else doesn't subscribe to that, I wouldn't spend time analyzing it. You've already got all the answers you need about how you should regard this person the moment they made themselves obvious enough for you to take notice. |

Not in my experience. You can talk **** to moderators all you like (I've seen it happen) as long as you contribute to the music discussions going on here. If you are known to just troll around and then you make an off comment to a moderator...yep, that's the day you get banned.
