Hehehe, I know what you're talking about.
Ignore people like that.
If they're that ignorant, they're not worth talking to in the first place, you know?

I personally hate pretentious musicians.
People who have to make fun of your music.
Or make fun of how much you know about an instrument.
Shut up and pay attention to yourself.
You're obviously the only one you listen to.

That's "condescending", not "pretentious".

It pays in dividends to know the difference.

That's true.
I used the word wrong with my explanation but I was referring to one person who came off as pretentious in my head. ^_^
You're absolutely right, though.
Wrong used of the word.

I don't even know how this stereotype was created... since when French are refined.
That's "easel", not "tripod."

It pays in dividends to know the difference.

Noun 1. tripod - a three-legged rack used for support
camera tripod - a tripod used to support a camera
easel - an upright tripod for displaying something (usually an artist's canvas)
leg - one of the supports for a piece of furniture
rack, stand - a support for displaying various articles; "the newspapers were arranged on a rack"

It also pays not to be condescending when you're wrong.
She's an artist.

Well now you're just being pretentious.

Or is it condescending?
