You gotta be more specific than just animal vs human. Lot's of people I can think of that would lose out against an innocent animal.

I said innocent. Let's assume it's a random person on the street vs a random dog you don't know.

What kind of dog are we talking here?

If it's a minpin I might just side with the puppy.

Lucem, you're right, it's silly to talk about what I would or wouldn't do IRL. Glad you brought it up. Maybe you should write an instrumental about it. I recommend a piano paired with a clarinet. With ambient sounds of you hanging from your shower curtain you ****ing failure.

Art Is Dead. Buy My ****.

We talking they are both hanging onto the edge of a cliff and I can only pull one up?
Safe to assume the dog weighs less, so the RPOTS loses this round.

Why do you keep looking for a loophole? Lol

If you value a dog's life more just say that. Stop trying to slide by on a technicality.

Face it. To give you a black or white answer I need specifics about my choices.

If a bus is about to hit both a dog and a person simultaneously I think my gut instinct would be to save the person. There's no thought process involved.

You want me to mull it over you gotta give me specifics.

The point of the hypothetical is to remove specifics so we can analyze human life vs a dogs life in a general sense. That's why looking for specifics that change the scenario is just trying to reframe the question to your favor rather than just answering it straight.

Let's say the scenario is specifically that you have to choose whither a random person dies or a random dog dies. You don't get to see or learn anything about the person or the dog. You just have to choose whether they kill a random person or a random dog. So you know as soon as you make the choice, then they are going to go out and select either the random person or dog to die. But it won't be anybody you know or any dog you've met. It will be a stranger you know nothing about. If you refuse to choose, they just kill both.

This has gone beyond ridiculous.
Wouldn't made an awesome Twilight Zone episode though.

As soon as I started reading the post all I could hear was Jigsaw's voice in my head.

P.S.
Unlike with people, I don't need to 'meet' a dog to dig it. It's a given.

If it was you, I think you have my answer.
