My anger is at some forum dude trying to tell me what my morals should be.
"I have 3 dogs and all of them are rescues" is a hilarious retort. I'm sure you are the type who mentions that every time you introduce them. Every so called animal lover has at least one animal they've "rescued" and usually it seems like the owner is getting much more satisfaction from the arrangement than the animal is.

You are complicit in the industrialized slaughter of countless animals every day. You might be powerless to stop the system from existing, but nobody forces you to participate. You don't have to eat that hamburger. It's a simple matter of taste that has so many so called animal lovers not even committed enough to the cause to not eat the flesh of innocent murdered little animals. Shame!

Good thing you went down to the local animal shelter and purchased yourself a couple get-out-of-jail-free cards. Exactly how many hamburgers does owning 3 rescue dogs license you to eat?

What was that movie that got big 15 years ago or so? Food Inc i think?

Even though I don't plan on giving up meat, I think we should certainly treat the animals we slaughter for food more humanely. The way many of them are treated on factory farms is just disgusting. Only problem is that it would probably cost more, but I think I'd honestly be okay with that. If we ever get to the point where we can perfectly (or at least 95-99%) replicate meat in nutritional value and taste synthetically then I don't really see any argument to continue slaughtering animals for food purposes. We'd still need to cull them for overpopulation and ****, but not for food.

Fitting, since we're talking about the ethics of killing animals for food.

I mean the way you said that **** about "I have 3 rescue dogs so my conscience is clear" just reminded me of an archetype I've seen way too many times when I was working at the animal shelter. The fact you trotted that out in this argument as your first line of defense tells me a lot.

And no I don't dislike you personally Chula. You just say a lot of dumb **** with a lot of confidence. You make for a fun target.

Did you know that according to polls at least 30% of MB users are standing?

Lucem, you're right, it's silly to talk about what I would or wouldn't do IRL. Glad you brought it up. Maybe you should write an instrumental about it. I recommend a piano paired with a clarinet. With ambient sounds of you hanging from your shower curtain you ****ing failure.

Art Is Dead. Buy My ****.

Only because of that dumb ergonomics trend that our older users got swindled by.

Fair enough. I'm not like that. Way too ****ing old to be looking for moral merit badges these days. Plus, the way I look at it is if you are looking for a canine pet and you don't rescue you are a pretty big ******* in my world.

That's cool. Dig coming back at you too but I have to be really careful about choosing my shots. You're obviously smarter than me, and you also being such a massive cynical snark.....

pretty sure I got burned the first time I pulled the "with all due respect" comeback with you.

I post a lot out of boredom. You don't have to take every shot that comes your way.
Kinda got to be like WTF? these past few days.
