I have to get my two cents in while admitting some guilt at eating meat. In fact, I cut out pork after it dawned on me that people actually have pigs as pets and they can be quite friendly towards humans.

But anyway, if someone is on his soapbox condemning meat-eaters, is he also an animal hater when he worked for years at a fast food joint that specialized in flipping meat burgers?

I don't remember the phrase "animal hater" being used.

I think that was the insinuation.

And how's it going, Lucem? We don't see you much anymore.

Do you ski?
I sure hope you ski, cause otherwise, why move to Ogden?

This? Not cool.

it doesn't need to be out of necessity. But there are only certain animals you should be allowed to hunt. Obviously killing endangered species etc should not be allowed.

I think it should be for a reason though. Whether it's the meat or the hide or just to cull the numbers.

To be fair to Batlord, he was responding to me. I said people who eat meat don't give much of a ****. And I belief see that.

You might give a **** in theory. On paper. But not in reality. Or at least not enough of a **** to sacrifice a luxury food item.

The anger Chula and TH are displaying at that is just the cognitive dissonance of thinking of yourself as an animal lover and then realizing you've sacrificed **** all to help any animals.

To be clear that describes me too. I kind of give a **** when I see Peta style videos on animal suffering but not enough to rearrange my diet. It doesn't mean you don't care at all just that you care more about sticking to the foods you're used to.

I don't see the distinction you are making between culturally reinforced values and morality.

I'm only a single person. Me not eating meat will not accomplish a damn thing in the big picture except maybe giving me some sort of superiority complex that allows me to give meat eaters ****.

I got 3 dogs. All rescues.
My conscience is clear.

My anger is at some forum dude trying to tell me what my morals should be.

I think avoiding self-cannibalism is good actually.
