Two wrongs don't make a right. That's why Dana can't start getting aggressive. I'd also be careful about doing the recording thing - that's what HR is for.
Show them the article and tell them his comment. That alone should result in a little 'talk' and most likely a pretty stern warning. There's not a company operating today in the US that isn't terrified of being found legally negligent when it comes to any sort of on the job sexual harassment. Play by the rules. Report him for the article. Then he either gets fired or he'll be walking on eggshells around her from then on - if he values the job.

I spent 12 years working for a company with over 5000 employees and in my experience, guys like him never change their behavior. They typically continue to behave that way until they eventually get fired for behaving that way.

Yeah, I agree. Silence will be taken as either fear or (god help us) assent. This ****er will just get emboldened, not to mention HR may ask why she waited so long. I'd do it now, today, or tomorrow latest. Don't forget, as other said (and I know of course it's only Dana you're concerned with) others may be suffering as she does, and this wankstain may only choose to move on to a new target. He needs to be called out. Ideally, put down, but he needs to hear a message loud and clear that this is not ****ing okay and it needs to come from someone with power over him. Ideally publicly.

I'm with you guys but I'm not going to pressure my wife into doing something she is uncomfortable with. She's made up her mind. I'm still debating on whether or not I'm going to secretly posion his food.
