So basically your life has been formed through watching British comedy. Sweet.
You've seen A Touch of Cloth, of course? Everything Charlie Brooker touches is pure gold. The man's a genius.

If one more ****ing ad tells me to avail of Black Friday deals now, I'll need a black ****ing Friday deal to replace my TV! I am so sick of this ****. Shops, businesses, companies will use it to justify any sort of small sale or even no saving at all - SKY being a case in point: oh look at our Black Friday deal! It's exactly the same as our deal all the rest of the year! The chances of anyone getting a genuine bargain on Black Friday are about as slim as those of, I don't know, Florida instigating strict vaccine and mask mandates.

tl;dr: **** off Black Friday ****s. I'm not interested.

When i worked at Walmart there were some decent deals on black Friday yeah but it would be like theres a hand ful of TVs or something that are marked down and so the first dozen or so people in line get a deal. Everyone else who is there pays basically normal prices with some minor deals sprinkled in. It's just a tactic to get you in the store cause they know once you're in there you are christmas shopping regardless. Especially since it's such a hassle being there on black friday, people want to walk away with at least something for their trouble even if the deals aren't what they should be.

If you want to be one of the few who save a couple hundred on a TV or something you basically have to line up like a day in advance instead of spending Thanksgiving with your family. Which depending on your family might or might not sound so bad.

I'd be surprised if everybody waited until black Friday to do their shopping. It's more like if you can get a deal go for it, but there's no real reason to go out of your way.

My bitch is that Covid-19 is the pits. We finally get control over delta spread in Auckland and now Omicron is spreading around the world. I mentally can't cope with any more lockdown's, we just finished ours after 3 months+. I am getting panic attacks a lot lately and I need to be more grounded.

The general consensus so far seems to be that Omicron is a milder form, so it might not be that bad. I think most countries are trying to stay away from lockdowns, both for economic reasons and, as you say, mental health issues. So it might not be so bad. We could certainly do with a Covid-free world though. How is the vaccine uptake in your part of the world, Jess?

Pull into Pete's Market for lunch
Go to park where I usually park
Someone is taking not 1 but 4 spaces
I park 2 spaces away from insane person
Go get my lunch
Get up to counter
Young lady is packing her groceries into reuse bags
Leaves cart right at check-out blocking me
I comment to check-out person
Both shrug
I take cart on my way out
Put it in stall
Go to get back in my vehicle
Insane 4 parking spot person is just getting out of vehicle
I comment on her taking up 4 parking spaces
She looks
She comments back "Well, would ya look at that"
She walks away into store

Spoiler for lolwutthefukiswrongwithpeople:
