I would say they probably weren’t/aren’t doing that great either then I remembered they’re buying a product that’s essentially free so they have to be some variation on the yuppie *******.

Don't even frame it as full price, just tell them "for you, 27 dollars" then they'll feel all special.

Next time ask them to make an offer and when they give you a price be like "$30". Then when they look confused and say it was $27 before, you say "$35".
