I tend to wake up with songs playing in my head, often ones I haven't heard for a long time. I can only assume they were in whatever dream I had. I'm also one of these people who can be humming a tune to himself or listening to his ipod, switch it off when I go into a shop, hear a song there and be humming it - whether it's good or bad - when I exit the shop.

Same here, but not just with music. If I do math homework before bed, I see integrals all night.

Ignored recent ex's birthday most of day. Eventually sent text because I felt bad. No response and now I feel worse. :D

Nothing to feel bad about. If you sent that text to feel good about yourself instead of just being sincere than you're being silly. Seems like you were hoping to force an interaction. If you sent it out of sincerity you should be happy with being a nice person.
