I'm exaggerating of course, I just can't afford proper gifts. If I had a girlfriend, I'd totally buy her something. But it's when I have to buy gifts for my family, which is a lot of people and a lot of money. I don't like to buy just for the sake of it, because it's Christmas or something. If it's something more important, like a birthday, I'm good with that.

Yeah, plus they'll probably just throw away whatever you give them anyway. Or, if they're resourceful, re-gift it to their most-loathed coworker.

P.s excellent evasion of the question;)

like for everyone, **** actually putting thoughts into the gift.

It's not the thought, it's the money. I don't need or want anything now. If I did I'd have bought it.

But if I say nothing and buy nothing, I'm a ****.

If I spend £20 on a gift and my sister buys me one that cost £20 what is the point? I've just spent twenty quid for the sake of it when I didn't need to.

My dad was fully on my side when I mentioned it to him, he thinks it's stupid as well.

A few months ago a close friend was going to Edinburgh, and of course she passed through Leeds to meet me for the night, and that was the last time I got laid. I then dated somebody, and realized I wasn't as into them as they were into me. I said "let's just be friends", she turned out to be obsessive as **** and didn't stop messaging me, so I blocked her. We were so close to boning. But I really didn't want to spend another minute with her. Anything else you'd like to know?

EDIT: I can't wait to get loads of deodorant for Christmas, should get enough to last me the rest of my life.

Thank god my family doesn't give a **** about giving or getting gifts. When they tell you not to get them anything they can actually become visibly annoyed when you do. It's amazing.

Yeah I understand... any girl who is that enamoured with violet probably isn't someone worth keeping around.

I don't mind receiving toiletries as long as they aren't those Lynx gift sets with body spray in them that prepubescent schoolboys use after PE because they are too scared to have a shower.

totally agree, hate exchanging gifts with my sisters for the same reason. we all get each other ****ty gifts that aren't of use when we would be better off just saving the money.

also the best part of christmas is getting new socks

Well it'll probably be the only way my grandmother will see great grandchildren in her lifetime.
