But if you want to drudge it up again, ok then. I called him out on something he said. I didn't consider it arguing because I let him get the last dig. And the only reason I said anything in the first place was because I didn't like what he was implying. Blacks are not "n-words" and gays are not "fa words." Those words are only directed at Blacks and gays. Just because a pejorative is directed at someone doesn't make them those words, because those words which usually weighed down with contempt. Anther thing, if JGuy Grungeman open up and bitch about something, I don't think that has to be considered some kind of a set up for some lame ass Batlord comeback. You might get yucks from what he says, and but what he said in this case, joking around or not, was offensive. I don't want to be a wet blanket if it's the forum consensus thinks he's witty, but that's how I feel.

I'd lean more towards acerbic as a descriptor. There's occasional wit but I don't think it's ever intentional. More of like a run-off.

I think it sounds like something someone who doesn't like people from Serbia would say.

This exchange happened last night at work.
Woman: You had a display before the holidays with funny books on it. Where did it go? Me: We had a lot of displays during the holidays ma'am. Can you be more specific? Woman: Well, there was a book about being Italian and another one about being in your 50's. Me: Do you have titles? Woman: No Me: I don't think I am going to be able to find that but I'll try. Woman: How can you not know? You work here. I just looked behind me. We have one of the largest Barnes and Nobles in the country. We have hundreds of thousands of books. This happens every day. I don't understand how these people function. |

I had a way more entertaining customer than that slag. We had a guy come in who was totally paranoid schizophrenic. He hoarded books into the corner of our lounge section and faced outward so he could see everybody. He then took out a comically enormous magnifying glass to read his conspiracy books. I went over during one of my rounds and asked if he wasn't reading anything that I could take and he told me that he'd return them because he didn't want me stealing his fingerprints.
I wish I could have actually spoke to him but I honestly felt uneasy sitting next to him. The legit crazy vibe coming off him was intense. |

If you love retail, you should try service industry. Then you'd have your answer... that most of them are actually adolescents trapped inside an "adult" body. Arrested development of the frontal lobe, I assume.
