I'm a huge pussy when it comes to slipperiness and immediately start walking like a 90-year-old grandma.
The cabs stopped operating due to the meteorological situation, but I was lucky enough to hail one cabbie on his way home and mine was on his way. No idea how I'd have gotten home otherwise. Can't imagine how many accidents must have happened tonight. Saw several on our short way.

"Huge pussy" and "90 year old grandma" in the same sentence... Coincidence, or Freudian Slip??

Not to mention slipperiness.

Best day ever!!!

Started with riding to the work in sleeting rain, which took every opportunity possible to stab me in the eyes. Then, two-thirds of the way to work, my bike wheel came loose, and I had to take it three blocks to the nearest bike shop.

Turns out the axle to the back wheel was broken, and the guy qualified to figure out if it could be fixed wasn't coming in till two hours later. So I had to leave the bike at the shop and catch a ride to work with my mother. Due to the (now) snow storm, I had zero cell reception, so I had to walk to the bike shop without knowing if they'd even looked at it yet.

Turns out they had, and not only was my axle broken, but so was a piece of the actual frame that keeps the wheel attached to the bike. Being a part of the frame, it cannot be fixed, so I'm now in possession of an oddly-shaped unicycle.

The only two bright spots are that A.) we have an extra bike at the house, and B.) I picked up a six-pack on the way to the shop, so at least I won't have to be sober much longer.

When life serves you a unicycle, become a unicyclist. (Then record yourself riding so we can all have a good coffee break chuckle before going on our merry little collective way.)

Steele Reserve, as always. I need cheap, liver bombs to crush my cognition.
