Got off work at 3am. Was fantasizing about beer all night. Apparently you can't buy booze anywhere in the state of Virginia after midnight. So here I sit, 4am, sober as the day I was born.

In Germany they made a law that you can't buy alcohol after 2200.
Supposedly it was made to decrease teenage drinking. Not sure what the logic here is. The teenagers are obviously all still drunk as ****, but the ban stands. Hooray! |
It's the same in NJ Grindy. Liquor stores (only certain stores can sell alcohol, you can't just buy it at the grocery store/gas station) all close at 10pm, and bars at 2am. Idk, how strict that is compared to other states.

At least the bars here are free to operate as long as they want. (Although most close at around 4 a.m.) Having specialized stores for alcohol also seems like a pain in the neck. Are they at least abundant, or is there just one store on the outskirts? |
They're abundant.
Bars can also sell beer-to-go to customers but no hard liquor unless you have some sort of license. |
