I've tried it several times because people say dumb **** like that. My results are quite conclusive and they suggest that lobster is disgusting.

Ya, all of the trillions of people who say that fresh cooked Maine lobster is one of the best seafood delicacies on the planet are whacked.

You're too high.

Make it a point in your lifetime to visit one of these places along the Maine coast.

Or maybe there's something to be said about variety of tastebuds in the world. I love all seafood apart from shrimp, lobster, and crab. Something in it just tastes horrible to me. An occasional crab cake is all that I've been able to enjoy. Don't worry, my dad has tried to fight the same battle as you by taking me directly to the horse's mouth, but I still can't stand the taste of that type of shellfish. Like I said, I can affirm that whenever I've tried lobster (upwards of twenty times) it tasted disgusting apart from ONE Cajun type dish that had a great sauce and was full of vegetables to cover up the nasty taste.

There's better expensive food I can waste my money on.

It's certainly not for everyone but like I said to Janz, I encourage people to always try things they don't like multiple times if they are prepared differently. Flavor and texture can be altered greatly depending on the origin. Also, in my experience things tend to grow on you after multiple attempts at eating them. I hated sea urchin at first, now I make sure to get a couple pieces of sea urchin sushi whenever I go to a nice sushi restaurant.

Dude you are crazy Chris. Lobster and Prawns are the go to shellfish on the planet along with scallops. Lobster and drawn butter go together better then peanut butter and jelly.

Lobster is a little bit less diverse than seafood as a whole. I've tried many times with an open mind (and will likely do at least a few more since tastebuds change and all that) and still had the same result of not liking it. I'm not 100% against it but I'm well aware of my own taste.

have you ever considered the possibility that maybe your taste is what's flawed, instead of always blaming it on the things that you are for whatever reason incapable of enjoying?

Once again, are you basing your opinion on just trying lobster from the southern west coast, or flown in frozen east coast stuff?

In the mid 90's I visited the Brawny Tree factory (had a job going on there). It was right next to Bangor where Stephen King lives. We were at a seafood place where we had a bucket of mussels, then lobster for the main course. Steve had announced that he would be at the restaurant within the hour, so we had to vacate. The best lobster I've ever devoured, and the mussels were awesome too.

ooops myoossels
