Youre not missing anything. Overpriced small portions of mediocre food. Go to a real seafood restaraunt or a cultural restaruant where seafood dishes are popular.

Best fish I've had is right along the coast at restaurants. Kinda pricy at times but worth it.

My home town back east is about a 30-40 minute drive from small coastal Maine places that'll serve you fresh cooked lobster, clams, or haddock that were caught that morning.

when i was in croatia i had this amazing seafood pasta dish at some restaurant. packed wth lobster, crab, mussels, oyster, prawns, etc. the sauce was unreal.

i still think about this meal sometimes. changed my life really.
