Didn't see enough of him to have a set opinion on him, but he certainly has promise. I imagine that they're going to take him in the direction of the more recent Batman comics, especially the
Death of the Family story arc from 2012. He definitely looked more purely sociopathic, and even less comedic than Heath Ledger's Joker -- who they were pretty much trying to top -- and that arc also dealt with Harley Quinn when she was in the Suicide Squad.
If so, then he's going to be more ****ed up and brutal than anything we've seen from a movie Joker before. Basically, in
Death of the Family, the Joker had an Arkham inmate cute off his face -- which I imagine they probably won't do for the movie, as it was... highly ****ed -- and try to cleanse whatever humanity he still had, while wearing his own rotting face as a mask.
It would make sense to use that for Suicide Squad, since one of his acts was to kidnap Harley and basically say, "You're crazy and all, and we had some good times, but I'm in a different crazy place right now, and you're just not cracked enough for me anymore. So I'm going to dunk you into the same chemicals that made me crazy so that we'll be on the same page again. If that doesn't work, then I'll kill you, cause I don't need that **** ****ing with my head."
