Tipping isn't included in the us, tip the waitress!!!!

Ninetales 06-08-2015 10:35 PM

yes same as Canada. im obviously not telling you to stop tipping now, since waitresses make their money on tips, but the system its built on is dumb as hell. im advocating inclusive gratuity. it shouldn't be my job to make sure the restaurant has adequate employees.

I can dig it, its ****ty system its unfortunate but they make good money, most of the time.

Yeah, no. For work that doesn't require a college education (or even a high school diploma as far as I know) waiters make good money. There's no possible way that the restaurant would be able to make up the difference. They're already paying them way below minimum wage (at least in the US), and now they'll have to match tip money? Not happening.

I'm not voting for you.

The Batlord 06-08-2015 10:59 PM

@ Ninetails

Well then expect more indifferent service. If it doesn't matter how they treat you, then they're not gonna be quite as on point about getting you refills.

Ninetales 06-08-2015 10:59 PM

you should. unlike servers, I do have a university education

@batlord hm how do other customer service jobs not struggle from the same "indifferent" service? pay them fair wage off the bat and that's motivation enough. if not get a new job. but its not the customers job to monitor staff evaluations. that's on the employer in literally any other field. they don't tip in Europe or Australia and wow somehow ive never had shitty service why is that?
