what country was this in? i ask cause iirc you live in norway... i wasn't aware that they had 7-11's there.

edit - also, i'm surprised the manager told you to pursue them. most corporations tell their employees the opposite cause people are liable to get ****ed up scuffling with some thief and they'd rather take the minor loss in merchandise and avoid any sort of lawsuit.

it's funny cause one grocery store i worked at in florida... they drilled it into us that you never pursue a thief.. you alert a manager and then they basically confront the person and if they run away they call the cops. but this one time there was this guy who tried running out with a beer and a sub sandwich... and it was the managers who chased him down. he almost got away but he got stuck at the door cause he tried to run out the entrance and it only opens for people on the outside coming in

anyway the managers tackled him and subdued him and called the cops... and when the cops came they said he had some sort of felony warrant out for his arrest... i think it was murder but i'm not sure, something pretty serious anyhow... and he got busted over a ****in heineken and a sub sandwich.

So I get there, and apparently another boy on my kid's soccer team (it's through the school) backed him into a corner, and was harassing him. Apparently my kid takes a swing, breaks the other kid's nose. Okay my kid gets sent home for the rest of the day (school is over next week) but suspended from sports for TWO WEEKS until June 2nd. MEANWHILE the other boy is sent back to class free & clear. I realize the two have had issues in the past (resulting in a black eye to MY kid) and from hearing what happened, it was clear to me that it was anything but a "friendly" chat, like the VP would have me to believe. He told me that because my kid swung first, that he was at fault and that they have a "zero tolerance policy" on violence in school, and that he had no choice. I told him that was a load of horse s*** and he knew it. Long story short after a p*** fight back and forth I told him that he and his policy could kiss my white a$$ (no action taken to the other boy). So yeah, I'm ticked. Thoughts?

Right so, I get that you want the other kid punished as well as your child and fair is fair blah blah blah, however, life isn't fair and 9 times outta ten in that same situation outside the school yard, someone gets arrested and someone goes to the hospital. And I don't care what anyone says in the case of fights it takes two to tango so unless both people are hauled off to jail you have this school yard situation replicated over and over in big people life. You're a cop, explain it in those terms. Somebody always pays for what goes down. Better your kid learn it now when an suspension means literally nothing, vs having a record that needs to ex-sponged or sealed. I get that your mad, but it's not that serious. Be happy your son isn't a pussy and don't take no **** off of others, that's a great personality trait. Just teach him to hone it and control his anger.

No, I don't give a **** about the other kid getting punished. I'm more pissy that my kid is missing out on soccer for two weeks over literally nothing. And yes, I am happy that my kid stuck up for himself - I would have done the exact same thing. He gets his temper from me, which we obviously need to work on.

And I was also pissy over the fact they wouldn't tell me ANYTHING over the phone. I mean, here I am thinking okay what's going on is my kid okay is he in the hospital what. And it's a stupid half-assed attempt at a fight.

Oh see break yer **** down so I can get the meat and potatoes from jump. See I totally tuned out with all the parental details. One would think you were pissed the other kid didn't get in trouble. Meh, what are you gonna do? Schools.

I told him that him and his policy could kiss my white ass, high fived my kid, and left. And actually, fair is fair, my kid DID throw a punch resulting in a broken nose. That's fine. But they can still kiss me arse.

Off topic, but, do you have a really heavy Texas accent? Cause whenever I read your posts I always hear a cartoonishly thick Texas accent.
