I finished the potato salad my mom made me. I don't have rice noodles to go with the miso soup and i wanna try to save some it until I can get the noodles, but I can't stop eating.
I had to see my mom today and she tried to black mail me with food. and i think it might be working. But I'm not spending higan or hatsu mode with the family. I swear with all of you here at mb as my witness. My friend is here and she' pulling out all of these pictures of me when I was younger and laughing. A little too hard. Right now I am looking at a picture of me when I still had the body of a nine year old and green spotted hair. what the hell was I thinking

We went back there and they had come and hacked off every inoculated arm. There they were in a pile. A pile of little arms. And I remember... I... I... I cried. I wept like some grandmother. I wanted to tear my teeth out. I didn't know what I wanted to do. And I want to remember it. I never want to forget it. I never want to forget. And then I realized... like I was shot... like I was shot with a diamond... a diamond bullet right through my forehead. And I thought: My God... the genius of that. |

I'd assume Japanese, as Obon is a Japanese cultural festival and Raine has mentioned it multiple times. You have two friends.

Higan is the Buddhist holiday for honoring the dead and welcoming the back to this plane of existence for 2-3 days. Lots of cooking, candle lighting, lanterns floating in water and some other stuff. Hatsumode is what I celebrated while most of you are celebrating Christmas, hannakah, Kwanzaa or whatever it is you celebrated during that time of year. It's a form of "new year's resolution" The idea is to go to a temple (sually) at the beginning of the year to promote good luck and prosperity. I don't know why, but Higan must be performed by January 5th. And I personally think it's rather hypocritical since most Buddhists are raised to believe that you do not to be in a spiritual place to do practice you faith. but yeah. whatever.
