I very rarely smoke cigs. Picked it up a while ago because drunk WD decided to make a very stupid decision, kept it up anyways off and on because it does actually feel nice after a drink or a skate or a busy work day. I really do love the smell, always have even before I smoked. I like musky scents though, strange that way.

I used to smoke socially. Very rarely I'll smoke while I drink in a smoking area in a bar but am very much against doing it any more. I hate the smell, even when I was smoking.

So WD forgot how to do Algebra/never learned how to do algebra/doesn't like numbers

um.

I gotta figure this out for work but idk how.

X + .0875X = 10?

what does a lowly doofus do?

Teach yourself some basic math.. It's good for you in real life: https://www.khanacademy.org/

What are you doing the maths for?

Mondo Bungle 08-25-2014 11:37 PM

If I'm reading that right, then you'd just add those two, so 1.0875X = 10, then divide by 1.0875

so X = 9.2

Plugging it in confirms that

Frownland 08-25-2014 11:39 PM

Combine like variables which'll give you 1.0875X = 10. Then isolate the variable by dividing ten by 1.0875. X = 9.1954 and some change I'm too lazy to type out.

EDIT: smart guy club, me and mondo

I feel like I don't get a choice in smelling people's second hand smoke. It's disgusting. I don't care if people do it but do it where you're not exposing other people to it. Eventually it will be banned publicly here but it's a while to go yet.

My neighbor likes to sit downstairs in the stairwell and smoke. It's so gross. She's a kind person and I don't mind her at all (her daughter is quite repulsive, though) but it's really irritating to be coughing before I can get my own door open. I get that it's not my place to judge them or whatever, but they could at least have the decency to do it somewhere else.

I knew we'd finally differ somewhere. :P

I'm really sensitive to most scents for some reason (my grandma and mom are the same way) - I can't even spend too long in the detergent aisle at the grocery store, and I've had customers wearing too much perfume/cologne that have given me migraines. Cigarette smoke disturbs my breathing (I have asthma) and (of course) gives me a headache. I can't even be around people who smoke just because their clothes smell so awful. They may as well be walking around with shit in their pants.

(I love the smell of old books and records, and I have a few favorite perfumes, though - I'm not totally hopeless. :) )

Was walking to my friend's new place, got a little ways, and within seconds I'm just in the middle of the most hardcore hail storm I've ever seen. Then I got lost. Now I'm shivering out of control from being 100% drenched. Some dime-width pieces of hail, getting pelted. Multiple feet of hail buildup line the streets.

But according to Gaahl, you can't play black metal if you are not a warrior.

She probably doesn't realize that it's affecting other people when she does that. I used to smoke outside in front of my dorm until an RA told me it was going into people's windows and there were complaints (used to smoke quite a bit). I had no idea I was doing this, I was just being lazy and not going too far out from my dorm. So I walked twenty feet away to a bench nearby and I could smoke in peace without bothering anyone but passersby. Bam, new smoking spot. So I'd talk to her about it (politely I might add. Probably didn't need to tell you that but it makes a huge difference) and it's likely she'll find a new spot, especially since you two seem to already know and like each other.

The thing is, we don't know each other well, and she's quite a bit older than me. She's lived here a very long time and I don't feel I have the right to tell her where she should and shouldn't smoke her cigarettes (she's in the early stages of lung cancer, but that's none of my business lol) so I just smile and ask her how her day is, then hop upstairs and mind myself.
