When you get like that in retail, you are burned out time to quit.

Maybe go to school and get a job where dealing with is very limited.

I kind of liked my service industry misanthropy. I enjoy not liking people in general and that just made me even better at it.

I agree with you bro. Really I do, I am guilty of that just like next person. There isn't a reason under the sun why your job should cause you that much irritation. And even if the policy is ridiculous, and the customer was not understanding it, if that is her reaction inside, it screams "I'M BURNT THE FU*K OUT." And she should look for something different. Because honestly retail is a job anyone can get, but not just anyone can do. It's not a positive or a negative it just is. I quit last year from my corporate retail because I was at a point where people saying good morning to me was obnoxious, and I was taking 3 xanax just to make it through an 8 hour shift. And I have more pride in my work ethic then to go in bombed and fake it till I make it. People know, when you hate them, even if you don't say it, and you know what I don't like ****ty service from anyone. I don't give ****ty service and I don't expect it from anyone and if my clerk isn't able to provide good service, even if it's an unspoken resentment I will pick up on that and I won't shop there. Because people work hard for their money, especially now, and unless she works in grocery, people don't have to shop there out of necessity. They can choose to go elsewhere, and that leads to poor profit for the company, less chance of raise, and what have you.

Lady don't take this as an attack at all because it most certainly isn't meant to come across that way it. This is just my personal experience with others and myself, not you. But consider doing something different for you. So you aren't miserable.

I agree. Most likely a customer isn't going to understand the store's policy, system or area as well as an employee does. That's part of what you're there for. If you aren't willing to help customers out you shouldn't be in the service industry in my opinion.

Exactly. I've worked in retail, the most issues I've had was from a rude manager who ended up being fired. I have the type of friendliness to take an angry customer and have them smiling on the way out. If you get that irritated by people who may not understand store policy, then this is probably not the right job for you. Customers may have different backgrounds and education so you have to treat them with respect and communicate with them at the level they understand. Having high standards for customers will only result in you getting upset. I realise some customers can be out of line in terms of being unreasonable but empathy is a great skill to have. Negativity breeds more negativity. Like they say, smile and the world smiles with you.

**** Youtube and their ****ing advertisements. They've been putting longer ones at the beginning of their videos that you can't skip through for a while now, and just about every one starts with a commercial these days, which is annoying enough, but now they're putting advertisements in the ****ing middle of their longer videos. Sometimes I try to listen to an album video and there seems to be an advertisement after every song. I understand that since it's a free service they have to make money with advertisements, but Jesus Christ it's getting to the point where I'll actually not watch a longer video just because it has too many advertisements.

This annoying chick at work... is annoying. She claims interest in things she doesn't know **** about, likely in an effort to appear interesting, and as someone quite knowledgeable on the **** it annoys the **** out of me. She also did the whole 'I'm not racist but' thing recently, and I have to consistently remind myself not to mind rape her because she's like 20 and probably never been south of 11 mile.

That's Michigan jargon for 'she's a really naive white suburbanite'. There's a reason I got hired in making more an hour.

What with all the idiots who tell me that they're in love with me, it'd be awesome if at least one of them meant it unconditionally

I think one of my close friends has started messing with heroin. It's a shame because she's a great person but if she continues down this road I'm going to cut things off because I just don't want to associate with that. It's never worked out in the past when I just look the other way, so hopefully this is just a one time thing for her.

****, that's awful. I know what you mean about friends and hard drugs. It's not just having to watch them throw their lives away, they just become ****ty, toxic people to be around who'll screw up your life too if you let them. Eventually you'll just end up hating them anyway, so it's just better to cut ties while you can at least still feel sorry for them.
