What's the point in getting a restraining order when nothing happens to the person violating it?

Do the cops not show up and tell him to leave?

Because women not doing background checks is their fault for getting in abusive relationships.

Ah okay.

It seems like just a formality then. Something kept on record until something worse happens. So ****ty.

If he is stalking you though he would know the new address before you are supposed to notify him but who the **** came up with this broken crap.

Black Francis 07-10-2014 01:17 AM

I didn't mean it like that Vanilla, it just seemed like they were having bad luck with men and that's why i said it..

im aware you can't always tell who's trouble or not.

He was great in the beginning though, never laid a hand on me. The problem arose when I broke up with him, he didn't take it well. He came by to get his stuff, we argued, it escalated, I ended up with a broken jaw and two cracked ribs.

Wow.. what a dick, im srry to hear that Steph.

I'm trying not to be offended by that too, but I know he meant well.

The address thing is ****ed up. Men like that are garbage. I hope you stay safe hun. Call the cops if you ever are feeling he's breaking the restraining order. Do you live with anyone else? You have a boyfriend right?

I know what you're saying but he seriously needs to think before he speaks.

Yes, and Yes. I'm genuinely too scared to live alone now, not so much because I need protection but because I'm irrationally terrified of being found dead or something. Fucked up, right?

It's ****ed up that you have to be dealing with this. There is no real protection for women. Basically men can beat the **** out of them even with a restraining order and get away with it. What have the cops done for you other than the order? I'm glad you have someone there. Poor thing. :(

I'm glad to hear he's been to jail. Let's hope he goes back. Without you being hurt of course.

A girl that I was living with a while back was going through the same thing. Was beaten up by her ex for 5 years. Like he would randomly just wake up in the middle of the night and start beating her for no reason. He eventually got arrested for a year but was released one day and she was so afraid he would come around because he started calling his friends asking about her. Eventually she warned us about him so I bought a metal baseball bat just in case he started trouble. Of course I'd just call the police first but **** if I'm going to let a dickwad beat up on one of my girls if it came to that.

I'd come over your place and bring the metal baseball bat, keep you company. :)

We have been working on this same interactive fuc*ing dvd for two days in class now and I want to cut my wrists. Not because the forensics are boring. But when we get to the legal aspects of **** I want to cry. If I wanted a degree in that I would be with the whole three other lawyers down the hall instead of the six crime scene investigators.

Class with the biggest turn out, that clutters up the hallways and I just want to scream in disgust whenever I see them. Nursing. Not that it's not a noble vocation it is. But, must you all travel 82 deep like cult? And clutter the hallway, and uh like not move when you see people trying to get their smoke on their breaks.... ****in nursing students can lick the blood off my shoes today.
