i look at mb kind of like a group of friends or something. theres prob, maybe 50ish regulars at a given time

and since most ppl have been around for literally yrs, everyone knows everyones musical tastes and a lot of music threads have been thru the arguments and discussions and have come to a resting point til a new member comes along and stirs the pot a little bit

since most ppl here arent huge fans of new music and new music that appeals to them doesnt come out that rapidly the only thing to talk about on a daily basis is pop culture topics where theres more variety of disagreeance

i would suggest lookin in the member journals section. its easily the best place here to find new music, discuss it and its just really the best part of this forum (tho i admit ive totally neglected my journal and readin other for like 2 months lol). the other best way is plug.dj/musicbanter. its how i find most of my new music and chat about stuff

I second getting into plug.dj theres an MB room and I can recommend several others that are less likely to be empty.

Welcome, I'm looking forward to seeing what else you like music wise. TPR is a great start!

Thanks I'll check it out.

I was thinking about starting a hiphop journal but I'm not quiet sure what I want to do with it, and I haven't gotten many responses to some of my threads in the forum so I'm not sure if it's even worth. I want there to be interaction not just me adding stuff.

The hip hop forum is really popular so maybe have a look at the discussion there. You may not always get comments but it doesn't mean people aren't reading. A member here called Trollheart has over 100,000 views with his journal. I think when people get to know you a little they will get in good discussions. Plus the board can be quiet often, but it is worth sticking around. There are so many albums I've been recommended that has increased my music collection.

I don't think it is wise to start up a journal if you just want interaction. Journals especially starting out just tends to be more about you writing about whatever you are into lately and every once in awhile people will comment on an entry. If you are in it just for that aspect. Keep your expectations low.

I agree with Deej, if interaction is what you want i suggest the lounge and forum games.

pick a fight with someone, or get some creep to fall in love with you, that's what I usually do for interaction here

My turntable isn't spinning fast enough and it's distorting the sound of my records.
