Actually genetics is the primary cause. There is a correlation between type 2 and weight gain (and depression, among other things) but that relationship isn't fully understood and isn't necessarily causal in the way that you're suggesting.

You think I don't know that there's more explanations than the one I was giving you?
Hell, I'M the anomaly in that I got type 1 diabetes when I was 18 and there is a 0.000001% chance of that happening at that age!
When someone posts in a thread titled, "The Bitch Box," I think it's safe to assume you're not going to be told accurate information there.
In other words, I was just bitching, and yes, I do know that there are more variables than even the ones you listed. People in Indonesia and Asia that barely eat at all still get type 2 diabetes. You'd think that after centuries of dealing with diabetes we'd at least be closer to at least identifying the causes of type 2 diabetes, but there's still a ton of unknowns.
