Well reading some of the comments posted it would seem this country is a total rort in more ways than one.Everyone says "Oh New Zealand I'd love to live there". One word for them....."Don't" the scenery maybe nice and some of the people, but that's where it ends

I've met many tourists. Some people absolutely love the place (somehow it's better than their country of origin) for being quieter, not too busy, and friendly people. Other people however realise that the incomes here are really low and there isn't enough big companies for them to get their ideal job (like civil engineers).

Tourists will often say that about any country (being better than their own)because they don't have to live there, but the truth of it is they'd be talking differently if they had to live here

That's a very good point. I fell in love with Antarctica and Scott Base and wanted to go back down to work there. I get the feeling the excitement will wear off when we are in darkness 24/7 during winter. They actually check that you're not getting depressed due to lack of vitamin d.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in England, but I don't think I'd want to live there

Ah ok, I'd be interested in living in France because I love their homes and life style but whether I'd like it long term is not known.

Oddly enough the only country I'd want to live in (again) is Aussie.......It's everything New Zealand isn't
