Brother is a heroin addict? Check. Brother steals money from my family? Check. Longtime girlfriend and I break up? Check. Brother gets arrested for making terrorist threats? Check. Dad suffers from severe depression and bouts of alcoholism? Check Friend from high school OD's on heroin? Check. Grandfather dies? Check. Grandmother gets the sh*t beat out of her, her house taken away from her, and her personal belongings stolen by scum of the earth? Check. I'm honestly surprised I haven't killed somebody/myself yet. I thank my mother every day for inheriting her ability to forge through unimaginable stress. I also have amazing friends in my life, including people on this message board. Sorry, I don't mean to be attention whoring. It's just crazy what this year has been. I'm going to be celebrating on New Years Eve that this year is finally over instead of celebrating the new one. |

Well ****. I seem to remember you saying something about moving out. At least that should help with some of this crap. A man just can't live in a drama soup like this without any place to escape from it.

Ice storm happened last night, so now everything is covered in a sheet of ice and most of the city is without power because of downed lines (yeah, old neighbourhoods here mostly so we don't have underground wires). We had electricity until like ten minutes ago, when the neighbour's exceptionally large ash tree decided to bow under the weight of the ice and take the utility poles down with it.
Now the city is saying it could be up to 3 or 4 days without electricity. So no heat (!!!) and there goes my mom's excellent Christmas dinner plans (no gas stove). No movies or TV for Xmas shows, no Internet (I am using a 3G data stick), and no electricity for Christmas... Argh. My computer is running on battery now but it's almost dead. Catch ya later, while I try to stay warm. |

What a ****ty ****ing Christmas! In other news, it was almost up to 70 degrees F tonight and it rained most of the day. People were outside wilding out because of how warm it was.

Yeah. Temps are dropping tonight as well, down to -7 C/19 F, feeling like -14 C/9 F apparently. And no heat because the furnace is electric. What an adventure! Send some of that warmth up here please!
