Every year, as Christmas drew close, Dougie would send me a text "Happy Dead Jew Day".
(He was the least bigoted person I knew, he just loved sick humor)

I feel compelled to say something here
Spoiler for Dougie/Police rant:
This was a press conference after Dougie's death
1. His name is pronounced "BOW-shur", nibblenuts.
2. This is a spectacular lie. I will quote my and Dougie's mutual friend Hagrinas, this was posted to the comments of the above video:

It was an intentional lie. The evidence shows it.
I will never know what actually happened between that store clerk and Dougie that night, but she claimed on another blog that Dougie was screaming at her to suck his dick and chased her all the way to the sidewalk. That holds no water at all as the record shows Dougie, the store clerk and the two police were IN the store, then went outside to the paved area where the gas pumps are. I have a theory, Dougie was extremely profane and clever, he would remind you of Doug Stanhope (and was a big fan), as such he could be extremely creative at telling someone to go eff themselves, and I believe that's what he was doing to the clerk. He was NOT a danger to attack her. I've known Dougie for years, the most violent thing he was capable of was a violent coughing fit.
(BTW, Dougie had a completely clean criminal record, was unarmed and no drugs or alcohol were in his blood)
Additionally, LOOK at the picture they used, especially that super-macro-closeup. They did everything except draw a Snidely Whiplash mustache on that awful photo. I don't imagine they'd consider using a pic like this one with his daughter, who was the absolute center of his entire life
Furthermore, if you look at the pics I've posted, it's easy to see that Dougie was nobody's tough guy, he's WAY out-of-shape and average sized. Notice this pic which I posted elsewhere, I'm a pretty big guy but I'm not a behemoth, but I'm just dwarfing Dougie in this pic
These guys did not have to taze Dougie once, let alone six/seven times. Even if they had justification to arrest Dougie (I don't believe they did) they would've been able to control him. But IMO they chose the lazy way. Then they lost all control of themselves, killed Dougie, then concocted this story to cover their own asses. This last part is not conjecture, it's right there in the dashcam video, which has not been made public by family request, no doubt to protect poor Katie (Dougie's daughter) from the trauma of having to see her daddy's life being snuffed out.
(JIC it wasn't already made clear, the cause of death was internal bleeding, when he was tased the first time he fell forward and, unable to break his fall due to taser-induced paralysis, his head hit forcefully on the pavement, fracturing his skull, and he bled out inside his skull while these two police tased him at least five more times, beat him with nightsticks and kicked him because he wasn't responding)
I don't know how the civil lawsuit against the city of Mason is going, but they're in deep doo-doo and they know it, which is why the city tried to get the lawsuit dropped, and why the judge denied the motion. I hope that Dougie's family cleans 'em out. End of rant.
*edited to add one more thing
The aforementioned mutual friend Hagrinas posted these beautiful words to another forum shortly after this tragic event, and I wish to share them here

I just heard from my cousin that they sell larger shoes and clothes and have more available than at other stores. When you're as tall as me, you can't exactly be choosy. So if they offer more options for me, that's excellent.
I'm pleased that you are going to have more options! Those stores that sell the same sized **** that only fit runway models is so not realistic. I have been excited lately, buying $1 dresses and tops at my local thrift store. I just wash it and I get people shocked when I tell them I bought the outfit for $2. I have so many clothes that I need to give them away.

It's funny how much I think I'm an asshole then the interwebs proves me wrong.
Smh at the last two pages in this thread excluding Paul's posts.
Also, I am done with clothing stores thinking that short = skinny
Like hell I'm not skinny! I wear size 7 pants! Bigger hips does not mean longer legs! Jebus it's called being hourglass figured Nd short people can be that, too! And don't get me started on bra sizes. Theres even a blog movement dedicated to 28 band bloggers that have big cups, you'd think la senza would get the message rather than claI'm I'm a 36d
Sounds like they really need some support.

I have way too many hobbies and things that I want to do. I'm the extreme opposite of bored whatever that word would be.
I have too many things that are half finished. Books I need to complete, magazines I need to finish reading, comics that I just recently started getting into, articles that I want to write, short stories that I need to finish up, games that I started and only got a few hours into it, TV shows that I want to catch up and get up to date on. I'm so thankful for the whole winter finale break. It gives me a chance to catch up on all the shows that I have recorded.
