@ladyislingering - Every time you bitch about being in the service industry I like you a little more.

Bitching about being in the service industry is required for working in it. If you didnt bitch about it you would implode or combust with rage levels far exceeding 9000.

I don't bitch about it. Is it sad that I work in the same play yet I like my job? Is it bad that I like my job? IM CONFLICTED.

dude, I've spent 10 years in the service industry and I've got so many stories about people that should have been sterilized on the spot, it's almost pitiful.

You work in the same place but don't you work in the back with limited customer interaction?

he deals with them on the floor from time to time (and man, he gets some serious tards back there) but I spend most of my time on the frontlines, I see a whole lot more and my area is a lot larger in terms of how many areas customers have messed up or pissed in.

Today I learned that Micheal Jackson died. MOON WALKER FO' LIFE. RIP WACKO JACKO

Dude, really? I remember where I was and what I was doing when I found out. I cried. I'm not even really a big fan, it just came as such a shock.

Not entirely. I still deal with people who donate and people who want help on the floor. Granted, I get hassled a lot less, but my rage toward humanity doesn't seize when a customer asks stupid questions like "where can i test this?" as we are standing right next to a shelf with the sign "electronic testing area".

I once worked for a business called A-1 Bird Bath. We made and sold, among other things (wait for it....) Bird Baths. So, it was 1986 so presumably people would get out their phone books, look up "A-1 Bird Bath", then dial the number. Our phone would ring, I'd pick up the phone and answer "A-1 Bird Bath" then they would ask....

(wait for it....)

"Do you sell Bird Baths?"

Uh huh
