I feel like I have a screw coming loose.
Of course everybody tells me I'm crazy all the time anyway, maybe I'm just finally starting to believe them...

I absolutely hate college and would rather not keep doing it but my entire family is full of Ph.D's and Master's Degrees and I would be considered a failure if I didn't at least get a Bachelor's.

I mean, hell, my uncle got all the way through law school....but didn't pass the Bar and won't take it again, and that alone is enough to make most of my family think of him as a failure. He's now living comfortably as some generic worker at Home Depot and his wife is a doctor so he ended up getting into a situation where he has tons of money anyway.

Heaven forbid I ever find out what they think of someone that doesn't even get through the first four years.

Don't compare yourself to other people especially your family. They want to see you succeed obviously, but they should also want to see you happy. If college is not for you, then it's not for you. That's fine. Same with your major, if you're not happy with it or not enjoying it as much as you thought you would, there is probably a better fit out there for you. Don't ignore your family completely, but do remember that only you know what's best for you.

I remember my parents were so fucking pissed when I told them I was going to major in music. Neither of them went to university or college and they told me that I should pick something better that will allow me to have a better paying job, unlike the "crappy jobs they have" (which are well paying and not crappy, btw). I don't give a shit about making lots of money, I care more about getting a job that I will actually enjoy doing.

My first year of school was really hard because of all that pressure around me. Then I decided not to give any more fucks about my parents opinions, and also not cram all my courses into four years. It got so much better after that, and now I'm 2 classes away from completely finishing.

maybe you were always crazy and were pretending to be normal around others. Embrace your weirdness.

Screw what everyone else thinks of you.

I'm a stupid kid who thought those green dot moneypak cards were completely legit, so I spent $160 on one to load onto paypal. Well I didn't realize you had to be 18 or over to do that, you'd think the cashier would've stopped me from buying it since I'm not old enough. My mom told me she could load it with her info but I already entered invalid info with that card number and it redirects me to a refund page. After surfing the web, I found a whole lotta complaints/bad reviews/dissatisfaction and not many people getting their money back. Now I'm sitting here waiting for a greyhound, still got another 4 hours, trying my best not to go on the bloodiest and most violent killing spree the world's ever seen. I don't have an address yet so I can't fill out the refund request, but even if I did, who knows if I'd get the check?

Should've done my research.

Have they heard your musical talent? Who needs a degree? Wait till you and Schuyler are playing Madison Square Garden: they'll be sorry then!

Note: this is a prediction. This WILL happen. If you doubt it, listen to the album in the link and then tell me these guys aren't going to be huge.

Can you not get a refund from the shop? If they sold it to you and you were underage, are they not somehow responsible? If they had sold you booze or cigarettes I would think you'd have a case. Might be worth trying. I really don't know about these cards, I don't think we have them here in Ireland.

Hah, they've heard it and my parents think I'm massively talented. It's just that music is a very risky thing to try and devote one's life to...you could get lucky and strike it rich orrrrr you can get unlucky and end up barely scraping by playing $50 dollar gigs at bars.
