No I am not. I work in sales. I do however work on lots of cars. I'm the go to guy in my household. I find it fun to learn new things about cars and the process is almost soothing. Helping my buddy this weekend drop his tranny and rebuilding it. Sounds like four hours of pure joy. Not serious about the pure joy.

That sounds like something better left to a surgeon.

Its actually a fairly simple procedure. Some wood glue and a few cans of playdoh.

My dad is really good with cars. He's a machinist but he trained as a mechanic when he was younger, before he got into machining. He can fix a lot of things but if he suggests taking the car to an actual mechanic then the problem is huge haha. He said the worst cars to work on are Chryslers. Probably because the local dealership is bitchy about supplying parts, especially for an old K platform convertible (I think it's a Sebring or a Shadow or something) that my mom has haha. He calls them the dealersh*t.

I actually can fix anything mechanical myself. I'm not one of those guys who has 18 microwaves in pieces in his garage but I like to give it a shot on just about anything. Your dad sounds like an old school guy. I can appreciate that, most things aren't as complicated as people make them out to be. My ex had a sebring convertible I feel his pain. Lucky for me her dad owned a Chrysler dealership. I worked on it occassionally and it certainly wasn't cut and dry like most cars. Lee Iacoca isn't the brightest bulb in the box.

We've also got a 1994 Caravan in the garage. My dad was big on Chrysler cars before he moved on to European cars.

Yes, exactly, it goes off as soon as you apply the brakes so it would be pointless in that situation :) I only ever use it if I'm on a very long stretch of flat, open road with not many other cars around. Helps with staying on 110km a hour as well when you're on one of our long highways like that.

My car is 1999 model so it might just be advanced for its kind?! Haha I don't know...
